Windows Phone 8.1 on the horizon

Windows Phone 8.1 is finally coming to a phone near you. After months and months research, beta’s and updates for specific phones the final release is in site. The OS has been formed enough to be released to the public.

New phones will get shipped with the new OS but your existing WP8 device will be updated over the next few months. A video with some of the new updates will be shown in the demonstration below

One of my favourite updates will be the calendar which will look more like a calendar rather than a scribble on a piece of paper with a date on it.

What updates are you expecting to see in this new OS?

Scan to OneNote with Office Lens for Windows Phone

Onenote, Microsoft’s answer to Evernote has come a long way and as it recently has been even released to all major platforms free of charge (www.onenote.com)

The Office lens is an extension you can use to capture notes and it trims, enhances and makes pictures of whiteboards and docs readable, and saves them to OneNote.

Or how Microsoft advertises it:

Office Lens is like having a scanner in your pocket. Never miss notes on whiteboards or blackboards. Always find important documents or business cards. Don’t lose receipts or stray sticky notes again!
